Weed control within Upper Lachlan Shire Council area is aimed at protecting our natural environment, farming production and the health of our communities.
Landholders and occupiers of land have the responsibility under the Biosecurity Act 2015 to carry out their General Biosecurity Duty (GBD) by controlling Priority Weeds which may be present on their properties. Information on regional priority weeds and the requirements of the GBD can be found in the South East Regional Strategic Weed Management Plan
Biosecurity Officers are available at Council’s Crookwell and Gunning offices to provide advice to landholders and to answer enquiries they may have in regard to Priority Weeds.
A list of all priority weeds for the South East Region can be found on the DPI website.
