- Sixteen staff members of the Upper Lachlan Shire Council were recognised for notching up significant long service milestones at Council’s Christmas Party on 23rd December. Staff who had achieved 10, 15, 20 and 30 years with Council were recognised and thanked for their service.
- A 5 km section of Wombeyan Caves Road at the Caves end has been sealed this week. A further 6km that is closer to the Taralga end of the road will be sealed during 2021. This will still leave several sections of unsealed road. The Wombeyan Caves Park is open to visitor's but they need to book ahead to camp there. Hard cover camping (cabins) are also now open, although the caves and walking tracks remain closed.
- Medical student Annabelle Carter recently began a two-week stint in Crookwell as part of her Bush Bursary scholarship provided by the NSW Rural Doctors Network. In her time in the Shire, Annabelle will spend time with Dr Velu and Dr Opie in Crookwell and with Katie Yeo in Gunning.
- The Binda standpipe has been vandalised in recent days. Two wires were cut and a handle stolen from the Avdata system installed at the standpipe. The vandalism was particularly pointless as the damaged system was not blocking or limiting anyone from using the standpipe. OIngoing damage to the standpipe could result in modification to access to it.
