Temporary Load Limits to be lifted on Three Local Concrete Bridges

Upper Lachlan Shire Council wishes to advise that temporary load limits recently installed on the following concrete bridges will be lifted effective from 5.00pm this Friday, 13 September 2019, coinciding with the removal of the load limit signage on site:

  • MR248W Boorowa Road/Wheeo Creek
  • MR248W Boorowa Road/Old Man Gunyah Creek
  • Reids Flat Road/Lachlan River

The load limits are being removed based on advice from the NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) following specialised load limit testing and engineering analysis. Traffic measures will also be introduced to provide additional safety for the travelling public.

Council is advising key stakeholders with respect to the removal of the load limits, including the RMS, National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, the Livestock, Bulk and Rural Carriers Association, and emergency services.

Temporary load limits remain in place on select timber bridges and the unnamed bridge at Harley Road, Crookwell will remain closed. Either side tracks are being constructed or bridges are being replaced based upon the specific solution planned for each individual location.

For further information, including locality maps of the affected bridges, updates on the temporary load limits, and work underway to ease the impact of the load limits, please visit: www.upperlachlan.nsw.gov.au/infrastructure/bridges-update-load-limits or contact Council’s Infrastructure Department on 4830 1000.
