Drivers urged to exercise caution

Upper Lachlan Shire Council wishes to remind drivers to exercise caution when entering and exiting parking spaces along Crookwell’s main street.

It follows an incident this week in which a car mounted the footpath and damaged the front window of a local business.

Upper Lachlan Shire Council General Manager John Bell urged drivers to reverse their vehicles with caution when parking rear to kerb and to ensure their vehicle is in drive, and not reverse, when they are exiting a parking space.

"It is ultimately up to drivers to ensure they are aware of their surroundings and to operate their vehicles in a safe manner," Mr Bell said.

"All drivers have a responsibility to drive with caution and to ensure the safety of pedestrians, other road users and themselves."
