In its inaugural year, the Shop our Shire promotion has been unanimously described as a success with 38 businesses participating and tens of thousands of entries.
Many of the participating businesses reported an increase in sales with more money being spent in the shire.
Council’s Manager of Economic Development and Tourism, Christiane Cocum said she was pleased the event had such a positive impact on participating businesses.
“We were delighted with the uptake from local business and really pleased with the feedback received of an increase in sales and more money being spent in the shire,” she said.
“It was a truly Shire-wide promotion, and we look forward to more businesses across the Shire getting involved in 2023.”
The three lucky winners of the event were:
1st – Tristan Kensit ($3,000)
2nd – Jess Hall ($500)
3rd – Janelle Smart ($300)
The winners will spend their winnings at participating businesses.
