Council Crookwell and Gunning Offices and Works Depots will close at 12pm on Friday, 19 December 2025 and will reopen on Monday, 5 January 2026

The Upper Lachlan Local Government Area has a population of 8,419 (ABS Census 2021) and includes the areas of Bigga, Binda, Collector, Crookwell, Dalton, Grabben Gullen, Gunning, Laggan, Taralga and Tuena.

The Shire is located in proximity to the major centres of Goulburn (46km), Canberra (138km) and Sydney (238 km).

Key industries are Virbac, farming of sheep, cattle, alpacas, potato growing and wool industry.  The supplier of electricity is Essential Energy, whilst LPG gas is available from Elgas and Origin Energy.
