Summer Reading Club

The Summer Reading Club will be run at Council’s libraries from 6 December 2019 to 31 January 2020. It is a great way to discover authors and encourage reading during the holidays and participation is free. This year’s theme is Amazing Animals. To register, visit Crookwell or Gunning Libraries in early December to fill in the registration form and pick up your free activity pack.

Cacti Craft Plant School Holiday Activity

Create your own cacti craft plant. Four designs to choose from. No need to water this plant!

When: Everyday of the Summer Holidays

Where: Craft table, Crookwell Library

Cost: Gold coin donation.

 

Reptiles

Live reptiles will be visiting our libraries in January. Learn about the unique behaviour of these fascinating cold blooded creatures and find out how to treat a snake bite.

Crookwell Library, Thursday 9th January, 11am – 12.30pm

Gunning Library, Thursday 9th January, 2.30pm – 4.00pm

Q-Fever Awareness, hosted by Upper Lachlan Landcare

Living in a rural community, it is important we are all aware of the bacterial infection called Q fever. Come and learn about the disease, what symptoms to watch out for, precautions to take, and how to get vaccinated.

When: Thursday 20th February, 5-6pm.

Regular Events

Scrabble at Crookwell Library

Come and join the fun of the Crookwell Library Friends’ monthly Scrabble Afternoons. Scrabble is held in the Crookwell Library every FIRST TUESDAY of the month from 1pm, followed by afternoon tea. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

Please bring a gold coin donation for afternoon tea. No bookings are required.

 

 

 

Knitting at Gunning Library

The Gunning Library Knitting Circle is held on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at 1:30pm. All welcome. No bookings are required.

 

 

Storytime

The themed sessions run for approximately 45 minutes and consist of stories and an age relevant craft activity or creative play. Children from ages 0-5 years are welcome to attend Storytime. Storytime is free and no bookings are required.

Storytime is held at the Crookwell Library every Thursday at 11:30am during the school term.

Storytime is held at the Gunning Library every 1st and 3rd Friday at 10:45am during the school term.

Storytime is not held during school holidays. 

 

Giggle and Wiggle at Gunning Library

Giggle and Wiggle is for babies and toddlers from 0 – 3 years of age, and their parents or carers. At Giggle & Wiggle, we sing songs, share rhymes and play games.

Giggle and Wiggle is held at the Gunning Library at 11am every second and fourth Friday of the month during the school term.

Giggle and Wiggle is not held during school holidays. 

 

Design, build, create, play @ the library's Lego Club

A mix of guided themes and free play sessions  to encourage design, creativity, sharing

and collaboration.

Gunning Library, Wednesday afternoons from 3:45 - 4:45pm during the school term.

Crookwell Library, Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm during the school term.

For ages 5 years and up.
