Black/white and colour printing facilities are available at all Upper Lachlan Shire Libraries.
Mobile print services
You can also print from your smartphone at the library. To print via your smartphone visit your library and connect to the free Library WiFi, find the library printer and select print. The printed items can be collected from the photocopier.
Library members are able to request items from other libraries throughout Australia, using the LibrariesAustralia service.
LibrariesAustralia is an Inter Library Loan (ILL) service which allows Library members to search and request items from libraries throughout Australia, if they are not held in their own library.
Conditions and charges for this service
There is a non-refundable administration charge of $5.50 for each title requested on ILL. This fee will be added to your library card and is payable when the ILL item is collected at the library.
Additional charges may also be charged by the supplying library (minumum of $16.50). This fee will be added to your library card along with the admintsration charge and is payable when the ILL item is collected at the library.
Items must be returned to your library on or before the due date.
If the item is lost or damaged the borrower agrees to pay the supplying library's replacement fee. Please note that this can be up to $300 for items from the National Library.
Requesting items from another library
To request an item on ILL you will need to go to LibrariesAustralia and search for the item by doing a simple or advanced search. You can request an item from your home PC/device or in the library. Please contact the Crookwell or Gunning Library for the user name and password.
Locate the item you need, click 'Get this item' and then follow the prompts to complete your request. Please contact Crookwell or Gunning Library for the user name and password.
Requestors should be careful to mark the correct boxes on the online request form to indicate whether they are willing to pay any additional costs charged by the supplying library.
Please note – it can take up to 3 weeks to receive an ILL item.
Multicultral Bulk Loans
The Library offers bulk loans of books in other languages from the State Library NSW. Books are available in a number of langauges.
Books are available in the genre areas of detective and mystery; love stories; popular literature; historical fiction; and science fiction. There are also chinese simplified script and children's chapter and picture book available.
Conditions and charges for this service
Should the multicultural loan items be lost or damaged you will be required to pay the associated fines and fees levied by the State Library NSW.
This is a free service.

Drug info @ your library is a joint initiative of NSW Health and the State Library of NSW. The website is provides up to date information about drugs and alcohol and information about drugs and the law.
Drug info collection
The library also holds a book collection of books and a pamphlet/factsheet collection on a range of drug and alcohol topics. Ask at the library for further information about this collection.
Find Legal Answers
The library provides a range of online resources, books and pamphlets to help with legal issues and legal studies.
The Find Legal Answers website provides up to date and easy to understand information about the law in NSW. The site also includes a directory of legal services and support where you obtain assistance.
Find Legal Answers Tool Kit
The Upper Lachlan Shire libraries hold a Find Legal Answers Tool Kit which consists of a range of books about the law. Some of these books are reference only and can be viewed in the library.
Read & Connect Book Club
Read & Connect Book Club is a group of people who meet regularly to discuss a pre-selected book. New members are welcome at Upper Lachlan Shire libraries’ book clubs. You can join an existing club or start your own group. If you would like to join this service and register your book group please contact your library.
Read & Connect Kits generally hold 10 copies of of a title as well as discussion notes, and some even include a DVD version.
