Gunning is one step closer to becoming an RV Friendly Town, with the installation of a new septic and dump point adjacent to Barbour Park.

Upper Lachlan Shire Council General Manager John Bell said the new Dump-Ezy station allows for easy unloading of waste straight from RV’s and caravans to the septic system.

“The new septic and dump point will bring more tourists to Gunning and allow those who visit to stay longer,” Mr Bell said.

“Of course more visitors to the town means more money spent locally, which provides a boost for existing local businesses and encourages growth of the town and surrounding villages.

“Access to a free dump point was the final criteria Council had to meet for Gunning to become an RV Friendly Town under the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia’s (CMCA’s) RV Friendly initiative.

“Now the dump point has been installed Council will make an application to the CMCA for Gunning to be recognised as an RV Friendly Town, which will enable Gunning to be promoted through CMCA’s channels and allow ‘RV Friendly Town’ signage to be installed in the town.”

Council recently received feedback left by satisfied visitors to Gunning, along with their donations. They noted the lovely grounds at the Showground and the friendly businesses and locals.
