Upper Lachlan Shire Council is urging computer users to be wary of an email scam targeting the Upper Lachlan Shire.

Council was alerted to the possible phishing scam by a resident who received an unsolicited email to their icloud email address yesterday titled “New Shipping details” from “Apple Order”.

The Shire’s Newest Citizens

The Lisonbees are the Upper Lachlan Shire’s newest citizens. American born Joel and Brittany took the Australian Citizenship Pledge at a ceremony held at the Council Chambers Crookwell today. Their children Chloe, Ada and Ezra will become Australian Citizens by descent.

2017 Collector Village Pumpkin Festival

The annual Collector Village Pumpkin Festival will be held on Sunday, 7 May 2017.

Held from 10.00 am to 4.00pm in Bourke Street, Collector, the Festival will showcase local produce and the arts/craft community. Pumpkin-focused competitions, ranging from the largest pumpkin to pumpkin themed baked items will also be held.

Reminder: Anzac Day Council Closures

Upper Lachlan Shire Council wishes to remind the community that the Crookwell and Gunning Administration Offices, Crookwell and Gunning Works Depots, and Taralga Community Service Centre will be closed on Tuesday, 25 April 2017 for Anzac Day and will reopen at 9.00am on Wednesday, 26 April 2017.

Council to move to night meetings

Upper Lachlan Shire Council will move to night meetings, commencing Thursday, 18 May 2017.

Ordinary Council meetings will now be held at 6.00pm on the third Thursday of the month at the Council Chambers Crookwell until 21 September 2017, unless otherwise advised.

Green waste kerbside collection feasibility review now complete

A review into the feasibility of a green waste kerbside collection service for the Shire is now complete.

The review, undertaken by Council’s Operations Department, was considered by Councillors at the Ordinary Council Meeting held at the Council Chambers Crookwell yesterday.

Vietnam born Thi Tuyet Hang Truong, known as Hang, took the Australian Citizenship Pledge at a private ceremony held at the Council Chambers Crookwell late yesterday.

Hang moved to Australia in 2012 to be with her husband Warren Munro.
