Mattress recycling available in the Shire

Got an old mattress? Don’t leave it collecting dust – recycle it.

Upper Lachlan Shire Council’s General Manager John Bell said mattresses deposited for recycling at Council’s waste and recycling centres are collected by Soft Landing Mattress Recycling, which recycle up to 75% of the mattress components.

Bigga becomes the Shire’s latest RV Friendly Town

Upper Lachlan Shire Council today welcomed an announcement by the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) that Bigga is the Shire’s latest RV Friendly Town.

It follows an announcement in June that Gunning had been named an RV Friendly Town under the CMCA’s RV Friendly initiative.

2017/18 Bitumen Resealing Program Commences

The first stage of Upper Lachlan Shire Council’s 2017/2018 Bitumen Resealing Program commenced this week.

The bitumen resealing will be carried out on select Council streets and rural roads until Friday, 20 October 2017, weather permitting.

Council wishes to advise that tree removal works as part of the realignment of the notorious ‘Devil’s Elbow’ section of Grabben Gullen Road between Crookwell and Gunning are now complete.

Earthworks will recommence on  Monday, 23 October 2017 (weather permitting), after heavy machinery and earthworks resources become available.
