Library Services @ Taralga

The 'Big Read Bus', the mobile library service, provides a range of resources for library members to borrow. The librarian on the bus can assist you with finding information and accessing a range of online resources.

The mobile library will visit Taralga every three weeks on Fridays from 2-3pm stopping outside Taralga Public School.

Print, Copy and Scan

Printing

Black/white and colour printing facilities are available at all Upper Lachlan Shire Libraries.

Mobile print services

You can also print from your smartphone at the library. To print via your smartphone visit your library and connect to the free Library WiFi, find the library printer and select print. The printed items can be collected from the photocopier.


Inter-Library Loans

Library members are able to request items from other libraries throughout Australia, if they are not held in their own library.

Requesting items from another library

To request an item on Inter-Library Loan (ILL) visit one of the Upper Lachlan Shire libraries and fill in the request form.

Conditions and charges for this service

There is a non-refundable administration charge of $5.50 for each title requested on ILL. This fee will be added to your library card and is payable when the ILL item is collected at the library.

Additional charges may also be charged by the supplying library (minumum of $16.50). This fee will be added to your library card along with the admintsration charge and is payable when the ILL item is collected at the library.

Items must be returned to your library on or before the due date.

If the item is lost or damaged the borrower agrees to pay the supplying library's replacement fee.

Online information

Drug info @ your library is a joint initiative of NSW Health and the State Library of NSW. The website is provides up to date information about drugs and alcohol and information about drugs and the law.

Drug info collection

The library also holds a book collection of books and a pamphlet/factsheet collection on a range of drug and alcohol topics. Ask at the library for further information about this collection.


Find Legal Answers

The library provides a range of online resources, books and pamphlets to help with legal issues and legal studies.

Online information

The Find Legal Answers website provides up to date and easy to understand information about the law in NSW. The site also includes a directory of legal services and support where you obtain assistance.

Find Legal Answers Tool Kit 

The Upper Lachlan Shire libraries hold a Find Legal Answers Tool Kit which consists of a range of books about the law. Some of these books are reference only and can be viewed in the library.


Read & Connect Book Club

Read & Connect Book Club is a group of people who meet regularly to discuss a pre-selected book. New members are welcome at Upper Lachlan Shire libraries’ book clubs. You can join an existing club or start your own group. If you would like to join this service and register your book group please contact your library.

Read & Connect Kits generally hold 10 copies of of a title as well as discussion notes, and some even include a DVD version.
